History of KEE PAC
Once upon a time, in Emporia, Ks, four past Kansas State Board Members were having lunch at Applebees. The four had become good friends and wanted to get together to reminisce. After catching up on everyone’s family and our own aches and pains, the discussion turned to the State Board of Education and the Kansas Legislature. We moaned and groaned over the fact that voters are influenced by so much disinformation and that the legislature doesn’t know or doesn’t want to follow the state constitution with regards to which elected body is responsible for what issues. We came to the conclusion that the voters do not know there is a State Board of Education and that they don’t understand how unique the Kansas governance model for education is compared to other states. If you know the four having lunch that day, you know they are fixers not moaners. Therefore, the conversation turned to “What needs to be done?” This led to the birth of the Kansans for Excellence in Education PAC. Over the year of establishing the PAC and making the PAC legal, a state wide committee was formed. The committee has developed a Mission Statement and Goals. Now the work begins! Please join us in making Kansans proud of their education system. Please help us be a place for accurate and factual information about Kansas K-12 education.
