Dr. Cynthia Lane

Dr. Cynthia Lane is recognized for her leadership in the field of education. She has more than 40 years of professional experience in public education as a teacher, director of special education, and superintendent. She is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for leadership and advocacy for quality public education, including being named Kansas Superintendent of the Year in 2016. Lane also serves as a member of the Kansas Board of Regents, and is the immediate past Chair of the Kansas Governor’s Council on Education. Lane believes that strong public education is essential for a strong democratic society, and is a vital part of every Kansas community. Her attitude is that all things are possible when we are informed, engaged, and come together to make life better for all Kansans through education.
